Something was ignited within her at her sister’s words; something equal parts anxiety and excitement. For a moment she wondered what sentiment would cause such a reaction within her, and she stood in baffled stupor until the answer came to her, bright as the light emanating from Anna’s aura — Elsa was finally getting a childhood. And though said childhood had been, admittedly, long overdue, it was better late than never, right? Now that she had fully acknowledged that fact, the excitement began to overwhelm anxiety; whatever this sock-sliding was, she would take it.

A tilt of the head was accompanied by a warm smile, an encouragement for Anna to go ahead and provide her with an elaboration; though excited, Elsa was knowledgeable that she was new to this whole thing, hence why she’d need some kind of instruction from someone who wasn’t.

”And how does this sock-sliding thing function?

How to explain about sock-sliding to Elsa without freaking her out?

The thing was, Anna never knew how to come across as subtle or calm. She had always been a ball of excitement and when people invest an interest in something she came up with during her lonely childhood, of course she would be more than happy to introduce them to it. Way more than happy. Since this was Elsa they were talking about, this ranks even higher than a city made out of chocolates (even though that would still be wonderful).

The last time they had a full conversation about Anna’s quirks was long before Elsa began shutting her out. This was more than enough to compensate the gaping hole.

“Well, uh…” she began (not a good way to start, though). “We should find the most slippery floor in the whole castle–I personally love the ballroom’s floor! Then we just run and run! Then stop running and let our socks do the rest of the work… Does that make sense?”
