”You should never be ashamed of who you are! Besides you’re not awkward— just— uncoordinated than some people…” He reassured her with a nod of his head.

Perhaps he was getting a little too ahead of himself. Noticing the redhead was not at his side anymore the snowman tried his best to slow down for her. Sometimes he forgot not everyone had an endless supply of enthusiasm or energy as he did. Though his joy was infinite at this moment reflecting from his swift pace and his fidgeting hands that twitched at his sides every so often.

“And I love you guys, too.” All but beaming now at her comment, he managed to slow down for Anna’s sake on the cobbled stoned streets. “Awkwardness and all!”

That couldn’t be right, Olaf mused, Sonya hardly resembled Mr. Erik or his sons. Possibly she was just boarding there under circumstance or she was related in another way.

“I think she might be his niece or she was recently adopted? He had told me she hasn’t been living with them for a long time.” His lips quirked momentarily before his hands knotted together as the shop came into view. All the answers to newfound questions were only a few minutes away. Whether he wanted to know the truth was still a question itself.

███ { ┅┅ ☼ ☀

Տhe couldn’t hold back the chuckle that was bubbling up inside of her. The snowman was definitely somebody who would comfort you with the amount of naivety he possessed (and boy was she glad that she wouldn’t be the only person to be called naive). “Olaf, I think you just defined the word ‘awkward’, but thank you.”

When Olaf slowed down, Anna could finally feel the warm atmosphere that Arendelle always gives out. With her snowman friend by her side, she felt happy. The snow flurry above his head was still swirling around him. She couldn’t imagine how would life be without him around. It would just be dull.

“Of course you have to love us,” she joked. “Otherwise, how would your life be? Just kidding, Olaf. Just kidding. Don’t forget us when you have a girl, okay? If we approve of her.”

Anna came to a stop when she could finally see the familiar sign of Mr. Erik’s shop. She turned to Olaf who had his hands together. He was probably nervous? If he was, Anna had never seen him like this and it was endearing. Who knew the exuberant snowman would actually feel anxious for once?

“That would explain the conversation Mr. Erik and I had,” she nodded. She kneeled beside her snowy friend and took his hands into hers. The ends of her lips tugged upwards and formed a reassuring smile.

          “You ready?” she asked.

The snowman felt the corners of his mouth quirk up when Anna attempted to reassure him, rambling like she usually did. But it was something familiar that really did comfort him. “You’re not awkward— you just get really excited sometimes and run through all possible subjects. When you run out of things to say then things get awkward. But awkward in a good way.”

Maybe this won’t be so bad…

Squeezing her hand gently and nodding to the guards as they passed through the gates, he began to skip in a somewhat faster pace fueled by cheerfulness. Sonya was going to be so happy to see them! He could just imagine her expression bright and her little hands flying up to cover her mouth. Oh this is going to be such a beautiful day for everyone.

“That’s right!” He giggled. “I mean look at me! I’m a lopsided snowman!”

His gaze swept through the busy streets and tried to “At Mr. Erik’s store. He explained to me that she’s allowed to stay there because she brings in customers.”

███ { ┅┅ ☼ ☀

“Ƭнαηк you for not calling me awkward, Olaf,” Anna chuckled. “I’m not ashamed of who I am. Well, most of the time!”

Trying to follow Olaf close behind was Anna–trying her best to keep up with the snowman. How could a tiny snowman have so much power and energy? What did Elsa do to make a snowman as excitable as this? The princess loved it, though. Finally, someone who was not afraid of letting their feelings show by having the happiness glow on their faces. Somebody Anna was not afraid to do silly things with.

“But you’re our lopsided snowman, Olaf!” the redhead cheered from behind as she managed to catch up to his speed. “And we love you!”

Mr. Erik’s store? That Mr. Erik? Wasn’t that the store where they often get chocolates and supplies?

“She lives with Mr. Erik? I didn’t know he had a daughter. Fascinating. So he’s been lying to me all along,” Anna placed her fingers on her chin, wondering why he didn’t tell her that he had a daughter despite Anna’s constant questions.

Suddenly feeling a bit nervous about the meeting he gave Anna’s hand a tiny squeeze and gulped. The possibility of Anna giving her disapproval instead of consent was still more evident than the latter. As much as he loved his Sonya, the love of his family came first. If they didn’t accept her then did it mean she wasn’t his true love? All his weeks of courting her gone to waste?

He tried to push the initial fear aside as he lead Anna down the hallway back toward the front gates, taking his time now and trying to pass it off as giving Anna some time to get the feeling back in her legs. His smile returning in the slightest at the praise of his beloved’s name and gave a nod. “I get it! No worries.”

Pondering for a moment he waved his free hand and shook his head. “Uhhh… she’s shy so she probably won’t talk right away and… she’s very very small. Smaller than me. But love comes in all shapes and sizes, right?” He inquired, glancing up at his aunt.

███ { ┅┅ ☼ ☀

“Don’t worry, Olaf,” Anna comforted the snowman. “I usually talk a lot, so if awkward silences are what you’re afraid of then I’ll make sure it won’t happen. I’m not making any promise with ‘non-awkward’ conversations, because I’m not the most un-awkward person ever, but just… you get it. It wouldn’t be silent, though!”

          Wait, what?

Olaf was smaller than most, so his girlfriend was smaller than him? That means, she’s no bigger than a toddler? Well, she get that sometimes couples don’t have the same height or sizes (just look at her and Kristoff), but just how much smaller was Sonya? This got Anna even more curious. Oh, she needed to get there faster! But no rush, no rush.

“Yes, that’s true, Olaf,” she said. “In fact, true love knows no bounds. True love is never based on the people’s appearances.”

The amount of curiosity was welling up inside her. “Where does she live anyway, Olaf?”

The snowman nodded his head excitedly, eyes shining now. The decision itself was impulsive and something he usually wouldn’t consider but this was a special case. His true love he was talking about. Two of the three people he loved the most should be able to get along, right? “Yeah, why?”

“Really? You’ll come? Fantastic!” He all be squealed, doing a silly little twirl on his heels and beaming up at Anna. She was probably the most levelheaded person he could have come to about his true love and was honestly thankful she was doing this. With a small wave of his hand, started for the door. “Come on, come on!”

At her question though he found himself pausing in his tracks and pressing his lips together in a thin line. Her name? “Oh her name is—” He always called his true love ‘Angel’ because she normally wasn’t the one talking and she never seemed to mind or correct him about the name. Thinking hard now, he rubbed his chin and visualized his little love waiting there in that glass ball of hers. The little stand that held the ball he remembered had a bronze plate on the front. Oh what had it said?

”Her name is…” Selma? Sally? Sel— “Sonya. Her name is Sonya.” He said quickly, his dreamy smile returning now and glancing back at Anna. “Isn’t that a beautiful name?”

【 ☀ —-⟩⟩⟩

Unconsciously, Anna tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, like she usually does whenever she would feel nervous. Was she nervous? By joves, no! Okay… maybe a little–just a tiny bit, very tiny like the size of a speck of dust! Even though Anna had more experience of meeting new people, particularly after the gates were open, Anna still finds herself stammering, stuttering, and making anxious gestures around people and embarrassing herself. And by the way, this was Olaf’s first love they were discussing about; somebody who had the potential of making him ecstatic or completely breaking him mercilessly.

“I’m coming, I’m coming, Olaf,” Anna giggled as she got up from her previous kneeling position, a little wobbly after she lost all of the feeling of her feet as she had kneeled for far too long. She brushed off her skirt before taking the snowman’s wooden hand in her own. Then she said, “I’m about as excited as you are! I can’t wait to meet her.”

As they made their way towards the door, Anna tried remembering whether she had anything to be done during that time. She seemed to be in a trance before snapping back into reality then finding out that Olaf’s love’s name is Sonya. “That is a beautiful name, Olaf,” Anna offered him a sincere smile. “Wait! I was referring to Sonya; Sonya is a beautiful name–not saying that Olaf is not a beautiful name, because it is… You get it, right?”

She gulped. “Well, is there anything else I should know about your significant other?” Anna asked, trying to distract from her previous statement.

Olaf didn’t know how animated he could actually become as he spoke, eyes bright and hands all over the place. Scarcely noticing whenever one of his hands almost flying off and smacking himself in the face. He didn’t know anyone could make him feel more alive than his ‘little angel’ he’s found and still carrying the sensation with hm now.  He wanted to ask Anna this what she feels around Kristoff but held off on it. The snowman fired off answers to the princess’ questions without any hesitation.

“Neither did I but I suppose opposites do attract. She has a ton of it when she dances yet makes it all look so graceful. Doesn’t she? But I know not everyone is perfect.”

He was not native as most people would think him to be. He’s already weighed the pros and cons of pursuing this relationship  Pro he had someone to spend time with when everyone was busy. Con she may get tired of him showing up everyday. Pro one day she was always in the same spot and easy to find. Con if one day she weren’t there he wouldn’t know where to find her since they never spoke. The list went on and on yet Olaf deducted that if this relationship didn’t work out then he’d pick himself up off and take it in stride… at least he hoped he could.

“Wellll… I suppose you could meet her now? I really don’t think she’d mind if I made two visits today and she’d love to meet one of my family members. Since I talk about you guys often.” he said slowly, smiling after a moment.

『☀』▌—;;

The way Olaf described his love was… well, cute. He had always been that way and she couldn’t help but think how lucky this girl was to be liked by the little snowman. What would happen if his heart got broken, though? That question continued to brew in her mind. It happened to her and there was no way she would let that happen to the lovely Olaf, but she couldn’t guarantee such thing.

“Their imperfectness makes them perfect in some ways, Olaf,” she said, giggling at him slightly.

At the sudden mention that he wanted to bring her to meet his crush, Anna was at a lost for words. She could only manage to mutter, “Wait, what? Now?”

Taken aback by his forwardness. She bit her lip. The thing she was worried about was whether she was going to embarrass him or not. Anna had the tendency to be clumsy and she was well-aware of that, but she couldn’t help it. It was something that cannot be changed, it was her identity. Olaf seemed to like this girl very much–what if Anna destroyed it for them by being her usual clumsy self?

But Anna was so curious now! She wanted to see his love!

"I suppose I can,“ she answered him, slurring on the last word, careful that she could take the word back in case she realized it was a bad idea.

However, her curiosity beat every other overwhelming emotions. Let’s go meet this girl; Anna had nothing to do today anyway. No turning back now. "I forgot to ask you, Olaf,” she began. “What’s her name? I need to something to call her with, because if I was there and I had no idea what her name was and I don’t know what to call her, it’ll be very awkward, you know?”

”Thank you! I never thought I’d even need a true love!” he enthused, his expression nothing less than whimsical as his hands clasped together tightly in front of his chest and a small sigh emitted from him. He always thought the adoration he held for royal sisters were the closest thing he was going to get to true love yet here he was. When Anna prompted his lady love in question, his grin stretched even further. What other words could describe her?

There was the briefest pause before he giggled softly and pressed his palms to his cheeks now. “Wellll! I met her a few weeks ago at the general store. She was so quiet and shy— yet very very pretty! She likes warm hugs like me and really likes music and dancing like we do! She dances all the time and is amazing!” His words tumbled from him like a waterfall, filling the stream of happiness flowing through his body.

Inhaling a deep breath to calm himself down, he felt a chill along his back and shivered every so slightly. “I mean… she doesn’t actually say much but actions speak louder than words right? I can tell she’s attentive because she mostly likes to hear me talk and afterwards her silence helps me think…” Olaf shook his head gently as if he were there with his love now. “I can’t wait till you meet her!”

『☀』▌—;;

Anna listened intently. She was excited to hear what ‘the love expert’ has to say about his true love. After all, he was the one who taught Anna about the concept, she was more than happy to listen about the love of his life. One of the many questions that passed through her mind as he went on was whether she was human or a snow person like him (Anna quickly crossed this idea as he mentioned general store) or maybe even the owner’s pet.

"I never knew you like the quiet type.“ and "How much energy does she have?” and “I bet you give her warms hugs all the time.” also “She sounds so wonderful, Olaf.”

Anna found this adorable. But she had a few reservations about this; what if she wasn’t the one? What if this was merely a crush and Olaf would end up getting his heart shattered? She bit her lip–she couldn’t bear the thought of seeing him so broken, especially when it looked like he really liked this special lady.

The princess was his Aunt, so it was only logical for her to meet this girl. With this Anna could see whether she was the one for Olaf or not. That’s the right thing to do. Everybody’s going to be so proud of me. For once, I am the mature one. Yes!

"I can’t wait either! When can I meet her, Olaf?“ she asked, as she placed her right hand on his back.

Ultimately his impatience won him over. A small pop sounded as the snowman pulled his nose off and took a step forward to pick the lock of the door. Just as the door handle rattled and swung open— Olaf was face to face with Anna’s skirts. With a small cry of surprise he shrank back into the hall whilst fumbling to keep a firm grip on his nose. The veggie slipping between his fingers once, twice, and finally he stuck into place. An abashed expression on his face as he tipped his head back to meet the princess’ questioning gaze.

Wait what? Drawing up a blank, the snowman’s gaze shifted from her to himself and then back again. Like a match being struck, he snapped his fingers with realization and began hopping once more. Oh— oh! Right!

Without any further adieu, the snowman spread his arms out before him in an over dramatic manner and all but shouted, “I’ve found her Anna! I’ve found her and she’s— she’s an angel!”

『☀』▌—;;

The princess tried helping the little snowman when he was having difficulties with his nose. She knew she was probably going to make things worse, but not helping would make her feel even worse (or worse-er if that word even exists).

Uh, okay, whoops. Alright. You got it.

As Olaf managed to put it back into place, Anna realized that his nose was not the reason he was here. She was about to ask him, but before the words exited her mouth, he answered the unspoken question.

What? Found what? Anna wondered. For a moment a look of blankness was sprawled across her face. She was trying to have her brain function after the tiring day full of math.

❝Congratulations, Olaf!❞ she exclaimed when she realized what he meant, although she was still confused on how he managed to find the one. She kneeled down so that their faces would be on the same level. ❝Who is she? Tell me.

Half of My Heart [CLOSED]

loverofwarmhugs:

The snowman hadn’t expected it to happen— it just did. It did not happen in the most conventional of ways. Heck he didn’t even realize this was happening until only a few hours ago. When he first realized he was in love. Being the love expert he was he should have seen it coming yet he’s learned the best things in life are the things that end up surprising you.

It happened slowly and then all at once. Starting almost four weeks ago when Olaf had decided to buy some candy for Marshmallow on his weekly trip to the North Mountain. Simple as ever he had strolled right into Mr. Erik’s General Store and right up to the counter to ask for a small bag of lemon drops and chocolate truffles when she had caught his eye. So delicately featured with soft pink lips and eyes as blue as the sky he had nearly forgotten about the candy. Perched right there on one of the shelves near the back of the store encased in a glass globe and snowflakes dancing about her pinned back black hair, she was a vision.

The snowman had felt a chill go along his spine and made his stomach squish like it does when he ate too much candy. Yet Mr. Erik had drawn his back to the present and handed him his bag of candy which Olaf excitedly paid for and hurried off on his way. But he found himself drawn back to the store three days later and soon frequently visited the little lady in the globe for the next couple of weeks.

Oh it was wonderful, she was wonderful.

Everything he could ask for, a lover of snow and music  and most of all she listened to him endlessly. No one listened to him like she did. Such patience was hard for him to find. And now he just had to share this joy with someone!

Today after his daily visit he dashed through town as fast as his little legs could carry him, grin etched across his face and eyes bright. Excitement driving his endurance as he made it through the gates of the castle and made a bee line past guards and servants to Anna’s room. More than sure the princess was just finishing her lessons, he skidded to a stop outside her door and knocked frantically against the oake.

“Annaaaaa! Annnnaaa!” He squealed, wildly hopping up and down. Too elated to notice the queer looks passer bys were giving him. “Open upppp!”

『☀』▌—;;

Pounding and throbbing. Head. Can’t. Too much. Anna buried her face in her hands. The lesson dragged on for what seemed days and weeks when in reality it was merely two hours since she had started. She couldn’t cope with it. Sure Anna loved learning about History, Sociology, and maybe etiquette, but Math? Ugh. No, thank you. She knew how important it was to study all of these lessons as she was the princess–yet she couldn’t focus herself on the drifting meaningless numbers. Anna’s 18 for god sakes! It made her ashamed for complaining to herself even though it was in her mind.

Anna glanced at the clock and made sure that her teacher wouldn’t caught her doing so. Just a few more minutes. If she could bring back summer to Arendelle and gain the love of her sister back, then Anna should be more than capable of enduring some boring subject. The teacher, with a look of pity on his face, turned to Anna. A sigh escaped his lips, like he knew what consequence he would get from doing this. He told Anna that her lesson was done for the day, but tomorrow she would need to do more work. The fiery redhead didn’t hear the last part as she was already dashing out of the room with her books. Remembering that she forgot to thank him, she turned on her heel and bid a small thank you before running again.

As soon as she reached her room, Anna plopped down her books on the floor and threw herself on the bed. She felt drowsiness engulfing her alongside the soft mattress that molded into her. Sure, she could take a small nap. No rules against that. So Anna let her eyes fall.

                    A time to relax.

This is what I exactly need after a long da–

          Knock, knock.

A few more minutes. She groaned.

          Knockknockknockknockknockknockknock.

The sound of knocking that sounded similar to a thousand arrows being fired from the skies caused Anna to grumpily walk towards the door. She wanted to stop it. After each abrupt knocks, she would hear a voice. She made out the voice to belong to one person (or snow-person).

She had to put on the nicest smile to mask her state of sleepy-ness because she didn’t want to offend the lovely snowman. She would never dream of hurting him and he sounded so excited. Maybe he found some new flowers and he wanted to ask Anna what they were. The excitable snowman’s curiosity was insatiable, but Anna liked that about him. It distinguished him from other snowmen. Not that Anna ever met any other talking snowmen. She rubbed her eyes before opening the door of her room.

❝Olaf? You sound happy. What happened?
